This nightstand sits on our living room shelf.
Built-in power gives you 2 AC outlets, a USB-A port and a Type-C port. It is an extension of the socket it plugs into rather than a circuit of its own.
A bedside table is bought for its top and kept for what is under it. Height matters more than width here: a nightstand level with the top of the mattress is the one that gets used.
