King Metal Bed Frame with Vintage Headboard and Footboard

About this piece

This is our king size frame, built around a 76 x 80 in mattress. Put together it stands 78 in wide by 82 in deep by 47 in high.

It is rated to 1,000 lb. Storage comes as 12 in of clearance underneath.

Two or three smaller things: the slat bearings are damped, which is where bed noise comes from, the feet adjust, so a floor that is slightly out does not make it rock and no box spring is needed.

On any frame the figures that decide how it lives are the same three: how far apart the slats sit, how much the frame carries in total, and how much support runs down the centre line rather than only at the corners.

The two failures a bed frame actually has are a dip in the middle and a click when somebody turns over. The first comes from support: legs down the centre line rather than only at the corners.
