King Size Metal Bed Frame with Leather Headboard

About this piece

This is our king size frame, built around a 76 x 80 in mattress.

Underneath the finish it is built from steel frame, with 14 slats across the deck, rated to 1,000 lb. Storage comes as 12 in of clearance underneath.

The rest of the specification: the slat bearings are damped, which is where bed noise comes from. Assembly takes about 30 minutes with the tools supplied.

On any frame the figures that decide how it lives are the same three: how far apart the slats sit, how much the frame carries in total, and how much support runs down the centre line rather than only at the corners.

The two failures a bed frame actually has are a dip in the middle and a click when somebody turns over. The first comes from support: legs down the centre line rather than only at the corners.
