This is our king size frame, built around a 76 x 80 in mattress.

Structurally it is built from steel frame, with wooden slats and 8 contact points, rated to 800 lb. For storage there are 8 in of clearance underneath.

Details worth knowing: the slat bearings are damped, which is where bed noise comes from and no box spring is needed.

On any frame the figures that decide how it lives are the same three: how far apart the slats sit, how much the frame carries in total, and how much support runs down the centre line rather than only at the corners.

The two failures a bed frame actually has are a dip in the middle and a click when somebody turns over. The first comes from support: legs down the centre line rather than only at the corners.
